Knowing your tax is step one; putting the money you keep to work is step two. These are the apps, credit cards and courses we'd point a friend to - a zero-brokerage Demat account for tax-saving ELSS funds and stocks, cashback cards that fit an everyday budget, and low-cost courses to grow your income.

How to pick

Match the card to your income

Issuers only approve cards whose income bar you clear. Each pick above lists its "good fit if" line - apply for the one you're likely to be approved for.

Save tax first, then invest

ELSS mutual funds (bought through any Demat / broker) qualify for the ₹1.5 lakh Section 80C deduction under the Old regime. Run both regimes in the calculator to see whether that deduction actually lowers your bill.

Cashback beats points

For most people a flat 5% online cashback card is simpler to use well than a rewards card with a redemption catalogue and expiring points.
