NewRegimeTax is a free income tax calculator for India that compares the Old and New tax regimes side by side for FY 2023-24 to FY 2025-26. It works for salaried individuals, freelancers and small business owners, and shows exactly how much tax you pay under each regime — instantly, with no sign-up, and with your data never leaving your browser.

Who builds it

NewRegimeTax is built and maintained by Trebots, a software studio run by senior engineers. We build accurate, fast, privacy-first web tools — and this calculator is one of them.

To be clear about what we are and aren't: we are a software team, not tax advisors. Our job is to implement the official tax rules correctly, show our working, and keep the tool current. For decisions about your own return, always confirm with a qualified professional (see the disclaimer below).

What we stand for

• Accuracy. Our tax engine implements the rates and rules from the Finance Act / Union Budget, and every calculation is automatically checked against a suite of known-correct figures before we publish. See exactly how we calculate →
• Privacy by design. Your salary, deductions and results are computed entirely in your browser and are never sent to us or any server. No account, no tracking of your numbers.

How we keep it current

Tax slabs, rebates and surcharge rules change with each Union Budget. We update the calculator's data after every Budget announcement and re-run our full test suite to confirm the maths still holds. The "last updated" date on each page reflects the latest revision.
